Start at Bigwater Grill parking lot on ski way. Go up Ski way past Diamond Peak ski resort to Upper Tyrolia. Take the first trail on the right for 25 - 30 minutes, then go right on the Flume Trail. Take the Flume Trail for 25-30 minutes to the Diamond peak ski resort maintenance road. Left on this dirt road, climb steeply for 15-20 minutes to the top of the lifts. Within 100 yards is the Tahoe Rim Trail. Go right, take the Rim Trail for 35-40 minutes, then take a right on Tunnel Creek Road (the first dirt road you will encounter. Follow Tunnel Creek road down to Ponderosa ranch, return to starting point.
