Shoreline XC race
2 mile warm up, 4 mile cool down. Race 5k.
ran Shoreline XC race. First mile starts up hill for .4 miles went out a bit quite but relaxed on the hill, coming down the hill to complete the mile ended up going through in 5:50. Relaxed through the 2nd mile felt pretty good overall (one point started questioning my head but quickly able to focus back on the race and get over it). Slowed down a little in 6:11. Last mile was half up a hill and my legs were done, breathing was good just haven't done hill work so felt pooped. finished in a 6:22... :53 for the last .1 mile as I didn't realize the finish was so close so didn't kick it in. Pretty pleased with the race, finished almost 1 minute faster than last year (19:40) and a few seconds faster than the first time I ran this course (18:59). Had normal insulin with breakfast, BG at 90 pre-race, had 2 cliff blocks between warm up and race, afterwords BG at 78.
