Bend, OR and the nearby Cascades are blessed with huge amounts of snow, opening the door for XC skiing well into late May and June. With a cool spring, conditions were particularly good this Spring. www.xcoregon.org offers some XC ski camps at Mt. Bachelor nordic, with an opportunity for top notch instruction, video analysis, and some late season skiing on about 15km of groomed trails. Meanwhile, plan on take advantage of the lower elevation and warmer weather in the afternoon in Bend for some biking, running, paddling on the Deschutes river, or any other outdoor sport you can imagine.
