CHINESE NEW YEAR 10K: YEAR OF THE TIGER @ SAN FRANCISCO CHINATOWN

8 weeks till Boston (57 days)!!! Ran my third straight YMCA Chinese New Year 10K. I tried to pace with the top two female runners, the first mile was under 6 minutes! I decided not to pace with them after I saw our first mile time (5:58), there 10K first mile time was faster than my 5K pace. The hill at mile 3-4 beat me up a bit, but I managed to recover. I finished in 41:02 unofficial and the two ladies I tried to pace with finished in 38 minutes and 40 minutes.

Speed vs. Elevation

Great job, Mark! Next year you'll get those ladies like I vanquished that 12 year old this year. Just eat a dozen custard cake the night before the race!!!! You can do it. Thanks for lunch.
