tempo run from gold river
did a 6 mile tempo run from gold river. right quad hurting right from the start so when i stopped at the bathroom tried to stretch it... after a 2 mile warm up started the tempo portion, right away i was feeling tired and felt like i was working harder than i did during the race this past weekend. body definitely not recovered from the race and long run. able to try and stay comfortable and relaxed during it, as i closed in at 3 miles of tempo (turn around) a bug landed in my mouth and i started to gag so stopped at 3 to take care of the bug and to eat some chomps. Coming back it got progressively dark until the point I was having a really hard time with my vision and seeing (bad depth perception which is magnified when it's dark and i can't see) I was surprised i held pace on the way back. 2 mile cool down afterwards where i ended up running into a roped wire... overall felt tired, legs hurt, and it felt tough... not too great feeling but able to still maintain a decent pace. Splits: 6:35, 6:30, 6:38, 6:34, 6:38, 6:30 (average about 6:24 pace).
