The Bikes Belong Foundation was launched in 2006 as the consumer arm of the cycling industry's Bikes Belong program. This 501c3 nonprofit arm focuses on bicycle safety projects and children's bicycle programs. The foundation operates as a charitable organization that can receive tax-deductible donations from individuals like you. It stands as a separate, complementary organization to the Bikes Belong Coalition. The Bikes Belong Foundation currently backs the following important projects: the Paul David Clark Bicycling Safety Fund, Safe Routes to School National Partnership, and REI's Bicycle Friendly Communities Grant Program. Now is the time to encourage more children to ride and make bicycling safer. The two go hand-in-hand. That's why we established the Bikes Belong Foundation. We need to build mutual respect among motorists and cyclists. We need to slow traffic. We need to provide safe places to ride. We need to create communities where people of all ages can enjoy bicycling without fear.
